In 1935 Melvin “Dad” Doughty opened a blacksmith shop in an adobe building in the small town of Eckert, Colorado.  Blacksmithing and sharpening plow shears was just the beginning of our long running success story.  The family roots run deep for Doughty Steel & Machine, and we are very proud of that still today.

He started out small, but we continue to value the one-on-one interaction with our customers even though we have expanded to a medium-sized job shop now located in Delta, Colorado since the early 1960s.

We have a multitude of equipment to prototype, fabricate, and produce your project with highest standard of quality.  We constantly update our technology to better, faster, and more precisely produce and repair parts and complete projects.  We use CAD programs, CNC lasers, computerized press brakes, CNC lathes, and mills to efficiently produce small and large runs of parts.

We have AWS certified welders, and employees with years of experience in their field, so you can be confident in the high-quality product/service we offer.
